Ihab Al-Maradni – Engineer, Editor, and Composer

Ihab Al-Maradni is a Syrian engineer, editor, and composer. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Damascus in 1994 and returned to the same faculty as an engineer in 1995, a position he still holds. He is a member of the Syrian Engineers Syndicate, the Teachers Syndicate, and the Artists Syndicate.

He began his artistic journey in university theater as a writer, actor, and director, then entered the world of television advertising as a screenwriter and concept writer. He wrote more than 400 television commercials for major advertising agencies in Syria between 1990 and 2000.

He was among the first to work with computer-aided video editing in Syria in the mid-1990s. He then developed his skills in this field to become a television editing trainer using Adobe Premiere and Avid software, as well as Adobe After Effects animation and visual effects software, and Adobe Audition and Nuendo audio editing software. He became a certified trainer with the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), training at the Arab Center for Radio and Television Training in Damascus since 2000 and at the ASBU Media Training Academy in Tunis since 2017. He also trained in Algeria, Bahrain, Libya, Jordan, and at numerous training centers in Damascus, as well as at the Arena International Animation Academy. He also trained at the Syrian Academy in Damascus and at the Al Jazeera Media Training Center in Qatar between 2007 and 2010. In the field of music, he composed numerous advertisements, program music, and soundtracks for various radio and television stations, including Damascus Radio and Nour Al Sham Channel. He then entered the world of drama and long-form series in 1999 with the series „Raqset Elhabara,“ followed by dozens of other works featuring his compositions, such as „Hajez Elsamt,“ „Al-khat Alahmar,“ „Qaa Almadena,“ „Haaeraat,“ and Arabic productions for Iraq, Lebanon, and Qatar. He received numerous awards and certificates of appreciation in the fields of musical composition and training, including the Adonia Award for Best Composer in Syria in 2006. He also has extensive experience in producing children’s songs, from scriptwriting and lyrics to musical composition.
