Aras Omar is a musician, composer, and music pedagogue whose work explores the intersection of music, migration, and social engagement. Trained as a violinist, he studied music at Al-Baath University (Homs, Syria) and has worked across Syria, Turkey, and Germany as a performer, composer, arranger, and educator.
His artistic practice spans orchestral and theatrical music, film composition, and community-based projects, with a strong focus on intercultural dialogue and music education. In Germany, he completed a certified program in music pedagogy for musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds at the Landesmusikakademie NRW / Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
Currently active as a music pedagogue and social counselor, Aras Omar develops structured music projects for children and adults in integration and refugee contexts. Fluent in Kurdish and Arabic, and working in German and English, his work emphasizes music as a space for learning, connection, and shared expression
